This class is geared towards a person or couple who would prefer private, one-on-one instruction for the purposes of obtaining a new / renewal CHL. This class will cover all the legal requirements for obtaining a renewal or new TX CHL, including the range qualification.

New CHL individual classes will last for 10 hours including the range qualification, and renewals will last for 5 hours including the range qualification. This class is ordinarily limited to a single individual; however, for an extra fee I will allow this format for two people.

What to bring:

• Class:
  • Notebook for taking notes
  • State issued ID (preferably a driver's license)
  • Your application package if you received it from the state. If you do not have one, we will provide one for you.
  • DO NOT bring your weapon to class unless you are a renewal and carrying concealed as per Texas State Law. We will check firearms at the range qualification, but you will not need them in the classroom.
• Range:
  • .32 Caliber or Larger Handgun
  • 50 rounds ammunition
  • Range Fees (Approximately $15 + tax if you provide your own gun & ammunition.

  If you do not pass on the first attempt you will need an additional 50 rounds of ammunition, so plan accordingly. The range does sell common ammunition types if you run out. If you do not own a gun, you can rent one from the range for a small fee. It is strongly recommended that you qualify with a semi-automatic handgun, because if you qualify with a revolver, then you will only be licensed to carry a revolver; however, if you qualify with a semi-automatic, then you will be able to carry either once you receive your license.

  The range is an indoor range; however, if it is cold or hot outside the range will be similar, so dress accordingly. Eye and ear protection will be provided if you do not have your own.
